Blue sky, low ceiling and north wind are still present. It is decided to wait as the wind should calm down and the ceiling should raise.

A 38.9km speed run starts at 15:30 and pilots are thermalling around the Mont Chéry take-off in Les Gets.

As the task is a speed run, pilots are leaving the launch area in little groups.

Thermals are weak and it is difficult to climb.

The first part of the task takes place in the Morzine and Avoriaz area. The first turn point is located in the Avoriaz ski resort, the second one on the Nyon plateau and the third one above the official landing field in Morzine. Then, the second part of task goes to the Samoens area. The difficult point is to go from the Morzine valley to the Samoens valley and only a group of 15 pilots manage to do it. Nobody reaches the validation distance that was set to 36km thus the task is not scored at all.
