The east wind is still quite strong on t takeoff and the conditions are "bumpy". A short task of 66km is chosen as the last 2001 Paragliding World Cup task. Pilots have to go to Bovec and to come back to the Kuk Antenna turnpoint. A group of 60 pilots reaches Kuk quickly, but too low. It was very hard to thermal in the valley wind and most of them landed close to Kobarid.

Only 20 pilots manage to climb and come back to the next turnpoint in Dreznica and do the final glide to Tolmin. 19 pilots are reaching goal.

Jean-Marc Caron (F) is first at goal, shortly followed by Steve Cox (CH), and Denis Chatelain (F). For the women, Eliane Ueltschi (CH) is first, followed by Elisabeth Rauchenberger (CH) and Petra Krausva (CZ).

The winner of the competition is Patrick Berod (F), Max Jnpierre (F) is second and Steve Cox (CH). For the women, Louise Crandal (DEN) is winning the competition, followed by Caroline Brille (F) and Eliane Ueltschi (CH).

The winner of the 2001 Paragliding World Cup is Patrick Berod, Jean-Marc Caron is second on the podium, and Peter Von Känel is third. For the women, Louise Crandal is winning, followed by Petra Krausova and Nicole Nussbaum (CH).

Today's task is 59km long. It is windy on the take-off today but after that bumpy part, the task starts in good conditions. The first group arrives really low on the first turnpoint, but they find good thermals and make a gap with the other pilots. It is important to stay high to cross twice the valley to the second turnpoint and back. The final glide to the last turnpoint and goal is engaged first by Peter Von Känel (CH) and René Hauser (CH). The arrive very low on the last turnpoint but finally reach goal.

56 pilots are reaching goal today, but Peter Brinkeby is not at goal and looses some more points in the overall PWC ranking.

Peter Von Känel is the first to reach goal, followed by René Hauser and Stefan Stieglair (A). Louise Crandal (DEN) is the forst women to reach goal, followed by Caroline Brille (F) and Petra Krausova (CZ).

René hauser now leads the competition, followed by Patrick Berod (F) and Peter Von Känel. For the women, Louise Crandal is leading, followed by Caroline Brille and Petra Krausova.

Patrick Berod is still leading the PWC ranking but with less than 100 points ahead of Peter Von Kanël who is now in second place, followed by Peter Brinkeby. For the women PWC ranking, Louise Crandal is still leading, followed by Petra Krausova and Nicole Nussbaum (CH).

There is one more task to fly tomorrow and the weather forecast seems good.

Even if the women ranking has little chance to change (Louise is now leading with more than 900 points ahead of the second women), the overall ranking can change a lot. We have now 14 tasks valid for the PWC, and one more valid task will cause one more discard (1 task discarded for every 3 valid tasks) and thus will make big changes in the ranking. Patrick Berod is only 85 points ahead of Peter Von Känel and there is less than 200 points between the 6 first pilots !

The pilots will gather tonight for the general assembly of the Paragliding World Cup Association (PWCA).

Kaspar Henny (CH) wins the task, followed by Kazushi Nishigaya (J) and Alex Hofer (CH). For the women, Karen Herrmann (D) is first, followed by Caroll Licini (CH) and Petra Krausova (CZ).

Kaspar Henny now leads the competition, followed by Kazushi Nishigaya and Torsten Siegel (D). For the women, Louise Crandal (DEN) is first, followed by Karen Herrmann and Petra Krausova.

The PWC ranking changes and Patrick Berod (F) is now leading, followed by Peter Brinkeby (SWE) and Kaspar Henny. For the women, Louise Crandal is still leading with more than 800 points ahead of Nicole Nussbaum (CH) and Petra Krausova.

Weather forecast is very similar today and thunderstorms are expected.

The same task as yesterday is chosen and storms are coming later and allow the task to be completed by 1 pilot !

Yvan Boullen (F), the most patient pilot reaches goal after 3 hours of flight. Only two pilots are fliying more than 40 km, the validation distance, thus the task is not valid for PWC.
