Task 4
22/05/98 - Task 3 - Another day with a strong northerly forcast with the strong valley winds expected in the Fiesch valley by the early afternoon. A short and simple task of 38 km was set with a last landing time at 14.15. The organisation constantly monitored the increasing valley winds from many points surrounding the flying area to ensure the safety of the task. At 1.33 when 85 pilots were alrady in goal, the task haad to be cancelled due to gusts of 50km/hr entering take off. Landing at the official goal continued to be safe and thanks to the new pwc rule those 85 pilots in goal keep their pwc points, although the task in invalidated for the Fiesch PWC competition.
