• The PWCA office needs  the 2000 national Championships & league results from all countries of the world before December the 16th.  All the results that have not been received by the

• The next issue of Cross Country has a big retrospective photo feature from all this year's PWC events.
  
  We can offer PWC pilots a special price of 190 FF/ 30 US dollars for a one year subscription. Normal price is 270 FF. This can help a pilot build up
  a portfolio for sponsors.
  
  If anyone is interested you just have to email the PWCA office pwca@pwca.org with your name and address and Visa/ Mastercard details, then the PWCA will  pass on the list to Cross Country and they will send you the retrospective photo feature.

• The committee would like to have new applicants for the job of Technical Delegate for next season
  The wish of the committee is to have only one TD who will be in charge to be present on all the events.
  
  You can apply for only one event. If you need any more specific information about this job, don't hesitate to contact us.

• The PWCA general assembly took place in Chamonix on September the 7th. During this meeting the President announced the following decision
  about the Serial Class :
  "The committee decided to promote the Serial Class and after the 1999 season the we decided to continue one more
  year for the 2000 season the experience on the ground that UK and some scandinavian countries were flying only Serial Class in their Nationals
  and that it should be better to wait for the new harmonised standards of Gliders.The Committee decided in October 1999 to award prizes only
  if at least 20% of pilots have been flying in this class. It had never been the case and 3 days ago the Committee decided to abandon the
  Serial Class ranking for the next year.

  However this year the winner of the Serial Class will be awarded a PWC trophy".

• CDC Decision concerning the Brazilian task 4 appeal

    The CDC had to decide if the jury made the right decision or not.

    Should the CDC consider that the Jury made the wrong decision, the CDC had to ask the TD to produce the results based on the photo evidence,
    distribute them to all the pilots with a dead line for complains.

    Then deal with the complains, produce the new results, distribute them to all pilots with a dead line for protests, deal with the protests if any,
    distribute the new results to all the pilots with a dead line for appeal and finally deal with the appeals.

    In case all this procedure would have result in an acceptable task ranking, the podium would have change and the PWCA would have to distribute on  
    its own finances the prize money.

    It still would have been unsatisfactory results for a certain number of pilots and would have led the CDC to cancel the task for unfairness reasons.    

    This is the reason why the CDC confirms the Jury decision and return the appeal fee since the appeal was made in the interest of a number of pilots,
    for sporting reasons and to try to save the validity of a valuable task, which we ourselves would have preferred. However, for the aforementioned
    reasons the original decision of the Jury must be followed.

• We remind you the following rule of the ICR §1.8 concerning the documentation that each pilot has to show before to compete in a PWC event.
  
  The PWCA committee during its meeting of June the 20th, 2000 confirms that the following documentation has to be produced before the PWC in Portugal
  if it has not been done yet.
  
  * SERIAL CLASS :
  The certificate of certification concerning the glider.
  
  * OPEN CLASS :
  A manufacturer certificate mentioning that the shock & load tests was done according to the section 7 and that the prototype meets the AFNOR
  competition standards. This certificate must mention that the nominated pilot can fly this glider.
  Each glider must have a serial number for identification.
  
  The PWCA will be very strict on this rule during the registration in Portugal. Please find here a copy of the standard PWC datasheet.

• The VII edicion de la Copa Pirineos de parapente - OPEN International will take place from Spetember the 15th until the 17th 2000 in Castejon. For information, please have a look on the calendar page.
• The prize giving ceremony of the PWC event in Granada will take place on Sunday June the 25th at 10H30 AM.

• the Swiss team has a bus transfer from Malaga to the Sierra Nevada. We have some space in our bus we can offer to other
  pilots. The price will be SFr. 50.-- one way.
  
  They will arrive on June the 15th at 13.05 h with IB 220 and leave June the 25th to catch the airplane in Malaga at 16.45 h, IB 239.

• The CDC (Control and Disciplinary Committee) has now been elected by the PWCA committee members. The elected members are :

  This CDC will now deal with the appeal concerning the last Brasilian PWC task that was cancelled.

• The Official Selection list of the PWC in Granada has been updated. All selected pilots have now until May the 18th, 2000 to pay their entry fee in order to confirm their participation at this event. Pilots who have not paid their entry fee by this date are cut out of the registration list. They will not be accepted at any time to this event. The list will be filled up with the best ranked pilots on the waiting list.
• 1 week before the start of the competition, the selection list will be definitive.
