The wheather forecast is very similar to the previous days. Thunderstorms expected in the afternoon in the west of Erzincan. The task will go more to the east to avoid these forecasted thunderstorms. Today's task is a race to goal of 49km with 3 turnpoints. Pilots are taking off at 12:30 and the start opens at 13:00. The first group of pilot launch immediately after the window opening but have some trouble finding good lift to climb (an inversion layer is visible all above the valley). Many pilots are waiting a little bit more on the launch area until the awaited lift finally arrives.
After 3 hours of flight, the task is stopped in the air as thunderstorms are getting closer.
40 pilots are reaching goal before the task stopping time.
Hans Bollinger (CH) is the first at goal, shortly followed by Achim Joos (D) and Dejan Adamovic (SLO). The first women to reach goal is Elisabeth Rauchenberger (CH) followed by Louise Crandal (DEN) and Eliane Ueltschi (CH) who reaches 46.5km.
Scotty Marion (USA) now leads the Erzincan competition, followed by Alex Hofer (CH) and Achim Joos (D). For the women, Louise Crandal (DEN) is leading, followed by Elisabeth Rauchenberger (CH) and Eliane Ueltschi (CH).
No change in the overall World Cup ranking: Alex Hofer (CH) is still leading, followed by Scotty Marion (USA) and Jean-Marc Caron (F). For the women, Elisabeth Rauchenberger (CH) is now leading. She is followed by Petra Krausova (CZ) and Caroline Brille (F).
