Today's choice is a little task of 56km to avoid the
forecasted rains that should be there around 16:00. The start
opens at 13:00 in weak conditions (big change compared to the
strong conditions we had before the World Cup). The view is
"lunar" with a desertic mountain surrounding us. Alex Hofer
leads the race followed like his shadow by Scotty Marion. Alex
reaches the goal first and wins his 5th World Cup task this
year !
He now leads with more then 500 points in the overall World
Cup ranking. the second pilot (for today's task and in the
overall ranking) is Scotty Marion.
Thunderstorms are coming around the 2nd turnpoint where
Semih Sayir (the event organizer) is located in his car. The
Technical Delegate (Xavier Murillo) is in flight at a distance
of 7km from this turnpoint. The task is stopped at 15:05.
Whitout knowing it, the task is stopped 6s after the third
pilot (shoishiro Tadano) is reaching goal !
The new rule allowing to stop a task while still scoring it
applies perfectly !
The task is scored and the pilot can land safely.
For the women, Louise Crandal, back in the World Cup, wins
with 50km. Elisabeth Rauchenberger gains around 50 points
against Petra who still leads in the overall ranking.
Today's winning team is Aerotact Racing (Tsuji, Scotty,
Franky) ahead of Gradient (Malecki, Joos, Henny).
The day will finish with a BBQ and DJ in an abandoned
village.
