The wind is blowing back from the east, allowing to launch from the main take-off located close to Tapalpa. Blue sky is back but thermal activity is weak due to high pressure stable air.

A 63km race to goal task is set, with a startpoint and 3 turnppoints.

A lot of pilots have difficulty to make the startpoint and land after a very short flight. The leading group fly more than 50km, but nobody reaches the 3rd turnpoint.

René Hauser (CH) wins the task with 53.4km. Ogisawa Kaoru (J) is second, followed by 4 ex-aequo pilots : Gregory Blondeau (F), Olivier Nef (CH), Chris Muller (CAN), Jean-Marc Caron (F).

For the women, Louise Crandall (DEN) leads, followed by Petra Krausova (CZ) and Caroline Brille (F).

Torsten Siegel (D) now leads the competition, followed by Jean-Marc Caron (F) and Ogisawa Kaoru (J). For the women, Louise Crandal (DEN) is leading, followed by Petra Krausova (CZ) and Cherie Silvera (USA).
