After a rainy saturday, the sky is scattered by many cumulus clouds and blue sky patches. The wind blows from the west and forces the organizer to move the first task to the second launch area located above the village of San Marcos, 40km north east of Tapalpa. San Marcos launch is located on a long ridge where west wind provides good dynamic lift.

A 59.8km task is set with 3 turnpoints around San Marcos ridge. The task starts quite late (window opening at 15:20 and start opening at 16:20) due to the late arrival of some buses to the launch area.

More than 25 pilots fly around 50km or more, but none reach goal.

Valéry Montant (F) wins the task (53.1km) followed by Torsten Siegel (D) and Jean-Marc Caron (F).

Louise Crandall (DEN) is the first woman (51.2km) followed by Petra Krausova (CZ) and Eliane Ueltschi (CH).
